On the 15th, IU Gallery released a statement expressing their stance. The fans said, “While we are greatly relieved to hear that IU’s upcoming concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium next week will proceed as planned, we cannot overlook the incompetence of Seoul City’s administration.”

They continued, “It is only right for Seoul City, which oversees the Seoul Facilities Corporation, to take responsibility for the grass issue and issue an apology to the citizens of Seoul. Instead, they are distorting public opinion, making it seem as though the exclusion of ground seating sales at the World Cup Stadium starting next year is due to the impact of IU’s concert,” explaining why they issued the statement.

The fans also highlighted, “Seoul Facilities Corporation charges rental fees for both daytime (09:00-18:00) and nighttime (18:00-06:00) events held at the World Cup Stadium. Additionally, for cultural events, they receive 8% of the organizer’s ticket revenue as a separate fee. It is estimated that Seoul Facilities Corporation will earn 1.226 billion won over the two days of IU’s concert.”

Furthermore, they demanded, “Instead of distorting the truth through the announcement of ‘excluding ground seat sales,’ Mayor Oh Se-hoon should launch an audit of the Seoul Facilities Corporation to thoroughly investigate the cause of the ‘grass management’ issue and take steps to prevent its recurrence.”

The full statement from IU Gallery is included.
